Maine's Own Forgotten Fairies

Denise was up until the wee hours last night putting the finishing touches on these wonderful "Forgotten Fairies".

Truly they are wonderful, especially the one that she did for me to give to Lorrie. It is of Megan and Cody and I wish I had one myself. Here is a picture of it.
If you click on the pictures you can really check them out. Megan and Cody were young when we took these. Lorrie and I use to dress them up and take their pictures, I don't think they were always thrilled but usually they were good sports about it. The story on the back of each one of her fairies makes you fall in love with them even more. She is such an amazingly talented lady. You can check out the rest of them on facebook under the Silkweeds page or Lisa Sanborn-Gray

Glass Orchids

Nancy & Greg Tang are wonderful people. They left a hectic life to move to Maine and to do something they had a passion for. That passion shines through in all the dichroic glass creations that come out of their studio. They truly are unbelievable pieces that everyone can't wait to own. We carry quite a few of thier pieces. They make everything from necklaces, to earrings, barretts, magnets, pins, one of a kinds and so much more. To be so talented, well I could only hope for that, but to be fortunate to have their things in my store, I am that .... indeed. Here are a few pictures of what we carry. You can also find them @ http://www.glassorchids.com/
Click on the pictures to see them close up. Enjoy and take a trip over to their website and check out a great USA (Maine) Made product.

Fall, Fall and More Fall

Happy Wednesday Everyone,
If you haven't already you should go to http://www.shopsilkweeds.com/ and sign up for our monthly newsletter. There is a 40% off coupon on the bottom of it.

Fall, wow, I hate to think of it, but I can tell you that yesterday as I started putting out fall, this is my favorite time of the year to decorate for. I just love the warm colors of fall. So here are a few pictures to show you what we have done so far.

I took Monday off and Denise got this display done, it is so cute. If you make the picture bigger you can see the rats better. They are so adorable. I know that sounds funny, but they are.

The Mantle needed a new picture and some different candlesticks over it. So after I fixed that, I added a few things to the display that Denise had started there. She had it looking great, she just ran out of time..... I know how that goes.
Here are a few more, pictures, I added a close up of the rat.

So there are about 12 more boxes of fall that need to be put out so I will get at that today. Let's see how much of a dent I can put into the pile.
If you get time, come on over and check it all out. This is when I think the store is the nicest, the colors just seem to make me feel good, maybe it will do the same for you. Have a great day and remember "It's Always Worth The Trip @ Silkweeds".

I am decortating for fall this week, so there will be lots to see. Have a great day and remember "It's Always Worth The Trip @ Silkweeds."
